Thought this was a good idea to provoke discussion and reminiscing.... anyhow, last episode i watched was Season 2, Episode 13, Perils in a Pet Shop Very good - the ending with Max and the KAOS agent (cant remember his name) when both under tranquilizers was hilarious MOD NOTE: changed the thread title and relocated it to a general section so we can include other GS programs besides the 60s TV show...

the last episode i watched was "The Treasure of C. Errol Madre" from Season 5... it's not the best episode, but it has its moments... my favorite part is where CONTROL is going out of business, and the Chief moves his office to the elevator, and all the agents have to cram in the elevator at once to see the Chief!

I don't have any of the DVDs but I do have an episode I recorded off of Nick at Nite years ago. I don't know the name but it's the episode where Max and 99 are at the boardwalk amusement park and they discover KAOS' plutonium smuggling ring masterminded by "The Waxman."
I love Max's lines:
"I don't want a Cupie Doll, I wanted the lace pillow that said mother." and "The old Inflatable Head Trick."

I don't have any of the DVD's either - Luckily get Smart is on everyday at 5 on TV1
and today i saw: Season 2, Episode 14, "The Whole Tooth and..."
Terrific - from the start with Max leaving the Cief stuck under The Cone Of Silence to Max's various attempts to try to get arrested (the scene in the diner when all the patrons give him money for being poor is particularly hilarious!) and the final chat with 99 and the Chief - "CONTROL has a policy of not hiring ex-convicts, Max" and cue laughter track. brilliant.

i wish you could still catch Get Smart in reruns in the US... TVLand used to show it, back when TVLand was a channel worth watching... i think i read somewhere recently that there are only, like, four small affiliate stationsin the whole country that still show it! such a shame when the classics are neglected like this anymore! thank goodness for the DVDs, or i'd really be upset!

started watching my Series 1 DVD this evening - so far have watched
Episode 1 - Mr. Big and Episode 2- Diplomat's Daughter
loved them...i must say Get Smart is pretty stylish in the B&W, the first episode is great fun, some definite nods to Thunderball (the boat fight for one) - the first emergence of "and loving it!" also is a delight.
Diplomat's Daughter is also great fun, Max and 99 dancing through the club evokes memories of my favourite episode - from season 2 look in the appropriate thread i guess - and The Claw/craw! is a fantastic nod to Dr. No. great fun and hilarious ending with 99 showing the Chief how to dance.
hilarious!

shouldve posted later...because i just watched
Episode 3 - School Days and Episode 4 - Our man In Toyland
as with the others - terrific. hilarious. even after 4 episodes the chemisty between Max and 99 is complete and you want them to get together! loved the spy school in School Days - very reminiscent of the SPECTRE training camp in From Russia With Love, and the ending of Our Man in Toyland with Max an 99 beating off the KAOS agents with toy weapons was a highlight.
a delight!

i've been thinking about going back and re-watching all the episodes so i could compile a list of every Bond reference i could find... it's a huge undertaking, though, so i've been putting it off...
the other day, i watched "Snoopy Smart and the Red Baron" and "Closely Watched Planes" from Season 4 and "It Takes One to Know One" from Season 2... ;D

No DVDs or broadcasts here, but I did catch one of my favorites 'One of our Olives is Missing' on the YouTube - Carol Burnett busts me up in this one! "No offense, puddin', but you ain't exactly no Sean O'Connery!"

tonight I popped in the DVD to watch Season 1, Episode 16: Double Agent. good fun, the scenes in the bar were both hilarious (max having to hit the chief over and over again) and sorrowful (Max trying to get 99 wasnt great to watch ) but the twist ending was quite well done and very surprising
