I've never seen an episode of Get Smart 95 so I have to ask for those who have seen it. Is it worth buying?

not an easy question to answer without knowing your taste a little better... the 1995 series was very much a product of its time - the music, the clothing, and the visual style all scream "1995", to me... also, the laughs seem a lot cheesier to me than anything we saw in the 60s - even Max is extremely OTT - and the fact that the show only lasted for 7 episodes might be an indication to some people about the overall quality... that said, the spirit of the original show seems to still be somewhat there, and if you're not bothered too badly by the dated production and the cheesey jokes, there is a lot of fun to be had... i watched the first episode with a feeling of, "What the heck is this?" but after that first episode, it really started to grow on me a little (storyline quality started to really pick up around the 3rd episode or so, too)... i actually found myself wishing by the end of it that they'd at least finished out a full season, though i'm not sure if there would have been enough good material to last much longer than that... i'd at least say i like the 1995 series a little better than The Nude Bomb or Bruce & Lloyd, though again, that may just be personal taste... at the very least, you might consider renting this, if you're still unsure...

I'll probably pick it up just for the sake of adding it to my Get Smart collection.

cool... if you still want more info about it before you buy it, be sure to check out the Overview & Episode Guide thread... after you've watched the DVD, i'll be really interested to hear your thoughts, too!

Well I bought the DVD and I have to say I really enjoyed the series and it's a same it never got beyond those first seven episodes because it had a lot of potential. I was pleased that Don Adams was still very much a large part of the show. I was afraid this would be the Andy Dick show but thankfully it was more of an ensemble. Don Adams was great especially considering he was in his 70s when he made this. It was great to see him still be out in the field. I feared his scenes would be restricted to being at CONTROL HQs.
I'm not a big Andy Dick fan but I felt he came off as pretty likable here so that was good. Elaine Hendrix I really liked. I've seen her in a lot of different shows and she usually plays a "b*tch" so I really liked seeing her as a positive character.
The show was certainly a work in progress and the humor was sometimes forced or nonexistent but you could already see improvement as the series went on. Had they been given some better scripts and a bigger budget the show really could have had a chance.
A special mention must go to the episode "Wurst Enemies" which was a fabulous episode and points to what the series could have become. Too bad.
Although it was great to see Max back in action.

I haven't seen Get Smart 95 either but doing a quick search on Netflix, I found it there. I just added it to my queue and should be getting it soon. I didn't want to buy it but it's only $9.28 on Amazon...pretty cheap to add to my collection. Hmm.
