here's an easy one;
by the end of the 60s series, Max and 99 were married with children... 10 years later, in The Nude Bomb, Max is a bachelor, and there's no mention at all of 99 or the kids... 9 more years pass, and in Get Smart, Again! Max and 99 are happily married, though there's no mention of the kids... 6 years after that, in the 1995 series, Max and 99 are still married, and the kids are back in the picture (well, the boy is, and they mention the girl, though she never appears)... and Andy Dick is 5 years older than Zach Smart ought to be, but that's not as big a deal, i don't guess...
my solution?
Zach and his sister are born in 1970... in 1980, Max and 99 are seperated, possibly going through some rough times (this explains why the family's never seen, but it would have been nice if there was at least a mention)... somehow, they patch things up by 1989, at which point the kids are 19 years old and obviously away at college... by 1995, the kids have graduated, Max has been promoted to Chief, and Zach has been offered a job working for his dad...
not too hard...
anyone have a better explanation? or do you have any other loopholes you've noticed and would either a) like to post your theory about or 2) like to have somebody else try to explain?
some, i'm sure, can be explained away... others maybe not, but it's fun to try, i think...

That's basically how I've interpreted it.

something else interesting i noticed... in Get Smart Again, they say that CONTROL was disbanded almost 20 years ago, which means it pretty much ended when the TV show did... "but how can this be," you may ask, "if Smart was in The Nude Bomb 10 years after the TV series?" well i'll tell you... if you pay careful attention in The Nude Bomb, you will notice that Smart is still Agent 86, but he is NOT with CONTROL... he is with PITS (Provisional Intelligence Tactical Service)... so CONTROL was disbanded in 1970, and some of its agents (Max, Larabee, and Agent 13, at least) migrated to PITS... then PITS was apparently disbanded sometime between The Nude Bomb and Get Smart Again... oddly enough, unfortunately, the intelligence group in Get Smart Again doesn't seem to know anything about PITS, since their records showed that Max last worked with CONTROL 20 years ago... but since when were government records as accurate as they could be??wow, i'm on a roll here, i guess...

here's an oddity i recently noticed:
in the 70+ episodes he appeared in the 60s show, the Chief's assistant played by Robert Karvelas was sometimes listed as "Larabee" with one R, and other times listed as "Larrabee" with two Rs... in The Nude Bomb and Get Smart, Again!, the same character by the same actor was listed as "Larrabee" with two Rs... flash forward to the new movie, and David Koechner's character is listed as "Larabee", with only one R again...
anybody wanna take a whack at this one?

dunno if this is the place but i didnt want to make a completely new thread.
watched an episode today with Max and 99 journeying into the Sahara - well i saw the last 10 mins.
and having sent a nuclear bomb to explode where they were standing in 3 minutes, Max and 99 started running and successfully escpaed!
they outran a nuclear blast in 3 minutes!
explain that my merry men...though it was terrifically funny

that might be less a matter of continuity and more a matter of TV Physics, which is a lot like Movie Magic... you might understand better what i mean after you see the new Get Smart movie...

maybe I'll understand it better CONTROL.... but i think the phrase "its only a movie/tv show" was created for moments like our 30miles in 3 minutes Max and 99
