though Hymie (played by Dick Gautier) has been a hugely popular character among Get Smart viewers, it may surprise you to think about the fact that he only appeared in a total of six (6) episodes! the question i put to you, then, is which episode featuring Hymie was your favorite? here are your options again, with a brief description of each episode to help jog your memory: - Back to the Old Drawing Board (Jan. 29, 1966) - KAOS is trying to kidnap a CONTROL scientist using their new robot Hymie (first appearance)
- Anatomy of a Lover (Sept. 17, 1966) - KAOS reprograms Hymie for evil and tries to use him to assassinate the Chief
- It Takes One to Know One (Jan. 7, 1967) - after every #2 man at CONTROL is killed, Hymie becomes the #2 man
- When Good Fellows Get Together (Nov. 18, 1967) - KAOS builds a bigger, stronger robot to go against Hymie
- Run, Robot, Run (March 16, 1968) - When US athletes are injured, Hymie must become a one-man track team to help the US win
- The Worst Best Man (Oct. 26, 1968) - Every person Max selects to be best man for his wedding is assassinated by KAOS, so the Chief insists on making Hymie Max's best man, playing right into a KAOS plot
so which is your favorite? i'll cast my vote a little later...

well i'd say that almost all of them are very good (Run, Robot, Run being my least favorite of the bunch)... the best ones, IMO were Back to the Old Drawing Board and It Takes One to Know One, and although the first one had some darker scenes and gave us the origin of the character, i think my vote will go to It Takes One to Know One... that one just made a bigger impression on me, i think...

I liked Hymie, the way he was so literal all the time. His first episode is the one that always stuck out in my mind, though. After CONTROL stole him from KAOS, there wasn't much they could do except keep reprogramming him.

Hymie is one of my favorite characters (great deadpan performance by Dick Gautier - it always looked weird when he acted 'human' on other shows!)
Although I liked all his episodes my favorite may be 'Anatomy of a Lover' for its humor value. For some reason my favorite moment is Max trying to convince the chief that an assemblage of washing machine parts is Hymie, putting a hat on it for effect.

I just saw the first Hymie episode today in my voyage thru season 1 and i thought he was quite a hilarious character - the scene where he's mimicking every move of Max is a particular highlight!

Back to the Old drawing Board is my favourite but When Good Fellows Get Together and Run Robot Run are also noteworthy.

My vote goes for Back to the Old Drawing Board. The first appearance of Hymie was great! One of the things I enjoyed the episode was precisely the fact that Max and 99 have not noticed it he didnĀ“t behave in a way, uh, very human! ;D
